Knudtsen Chevrolet is seekinga Commercial Sales Managerto join the Knudtsen family. The Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for supporting and securing commercial, fleet, and business accounts.

Summary: Manages all activities of the commercial sales department including the interactions, ordering, bidding, sales, and follow-up of commercial, fleet, and business accounts.


Responsibilities:


  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all commercial sales employees, ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

  • Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times.

  • Works with the General Sales Manager and General Manager to forecast sales goals and expenses for the commercial sales department.

  • Forecasts aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives for individual salespeople and provides them with the support to meet these goals.

  • Provides proper product and training resources for commercial salespeople on a regular basis.

  • Conducts weekly commercial sales training meetings as directed by the General Sales Manager.

  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect commercial vehicle sales.

  • Supports Commercial Sales Associates with the solicitation of commercial, fleet, and business accounts, including maintaining and building relationships with federal, state, and/or local government agencies and utilities to secure fleet business, actively utilizing the bidding process.

  • Coordinates upfits on stock and purchased units.

  • Orders all medium duty vehicles.

  • Takes showroom ups on commercial, fleet, and business customers as needed.

  • Desks commercial, fleet, and business deals.

  • Ensures quality deliveries of all commercial, fleet, and business sales.

  • Follows up on dealership payment for delivered fleet, lease company, and commercial account vehicles routinely.

  • Maintains close contact with customers’ and manufacturer’s commercial vehicle representatives.

  • Acts as source for national and local courtesy deliveries (supplying specifications as needed for orders).

  • Provides out-of-stock service for fleet accounts and local leasing companies in conjunction with general sales manager.

  • Strives for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.

  • Maintains professional appearance.

  • Other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Team player focused on providing ethical and exemplary customer service.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to set and achieve targeted goals.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Two to four years of experience in automotive sales management.

  • Working knowledge of computers, basic software, and Internet, and ability to learn database management and customer relationships software.

  • Familiarity with all federal, state, and local laws which govern retail automotive sales.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.

  • Pass a criminal background check and drug test. Also subject to random drug testing at the company’s request.
